Stage 1 Warm-up Teacher points to pupils’ toys and asks: 1) What is this? 2) What colour is it? 3) What can a cat (a dog, a mouse etc.) do? 4) What can you do like a cat (a dog, a mouse etc.)?
Stage 2 Phonetic exercise Pupils watch a presentation of sounds /h/, / ð /, /t/, /d/, /l/, /h/, /u/, /u:/, /p/, /m/, /r/, /k/, /b/ followed by teacher’s story of Mr English Tongue: Жил-был язычок. Когда он спал, он тихо, тихо дышал [h]. Над ним кружили мухи и жужжали/ ð /. Язычок проснулся и начал играть со своими любимыми звуками на потолке [ t ], [ d ], [ l ], [ n ]. Stage 3 Speaking Checking homework – pupils watch a story about a town mouse and a country mouse on TV and then tell it by heart.
Stage 4 Writing Pupils write English words, that Teacher says Russian (words are connected with nature: домик на дереве, собака, лягушка, рыба, мышь, дельфин, дерево, кенгуру, муравей, лошадь. Pupils who have a lot of mistakes get an extra homework: special cards for work at vocabulary.
